We're so happy to see you here!
Wugga Monsters was launched in the summer of 2019, completely on a whim. One day while playing around with some leftover fabric from a failed Etsy shop, I decided to make a stuffed monster. This was just a fun side project for myself but it got amazing feedback. Some friends started asking if I was going to sell monsters and something just clicked. I decided to make another to test the waters and got the same response.
From there I opened another Etsy shop and named it Wugga Monsters. The word Wugga comes from a blend of my husband and son. When I first started making monsters my husband called them "wubbas", and a nickname we have for our son is Bug (bugga-bear, bugga-boo). Put those together and voila! Wuggas.
Creating monsters has opened a whole new creative outlet and has been such an exciting journey. The most rewarding part is when someone tells me how much their kiddo loves their monster, or when folks share their photos of their kids with their Wuggas. Knowing I put a smile on a child's face has been the best feeling. But, when creating for children comes great responsibility. Safety is my top priority when it comes to creating my monsters. I do not use any small pieces like eyes or buttons when creating the Wuggas. It is very important to me that I don't make anything that could promote choking or cause any harm to any little ones. If I wouldn't give it to my kids, I won't give it to yours.
